Audience members walk out after raunchy Voice of Ireland performance
IT MAY BE a singing competition but music was the last thing on everyone’s minds after a raunchy Voice of Ireland performance inspired heated debate last night.
Team Kian’s Danica Holland took to the stage with Lady Gaga’s Do What U Want, but her singing was overshadowed by a row about her backing dancers, who got a little hot and heavy on the stage.
DailyEdge.ie contracted a representative for the show, who confirmed that a small number of audience members left The Helix following the performance.
The judges praised Holland for her vocal efforts, but weren’t overly impressed with the floor show either. Bressie told the Cork woman that she had done well, considering the fact that scenes from Basic Instinct were going on around her.
“It was a bit raunchy” Dolores O’Riordan commented, while Jamelia praised the singer for maintaining focus amid the antics on stage.
Some viewers at home seemed fairly shocked too.
Holland and fellow contestant Craig McMorrow ended up in the bottom two on Team Kian, but Egan opted to save her saying he felt she was the better singer.
